There were eighteen Samsung smartphones and tablets that were expected to get One UI 8.5, but had not been confirmed to get it. One of them was the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024). Fortunately, the brand has now released the new software for the tablet, bringing welcome news and a major relief to the device's owners.
At the moment, Samsung is rolling out the update to the international variant of the tablet featuring cellular connectivity (4G/LTE) in Europe, Thailand, and Vietnam. It carries firmware version P625XXUACZE8 (via Mohammed Khatri). It also brings the May 2026 security patch, which fixes 36 security issues.
To get the stable version of One UI 8.5 on your Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung should release the update in the remaining countries in the next couple of weeks at most.
One UI 8.5 brings a few visual changes and many new features. As for the user interface, you get a transparent blur effect and a floating design for the bottom bar in first-party apps. The Quick Panel is more customisable as well.
Coming to the new features, there is direct voicemail, support for Apple AirDrop, partial screen recording, new filters in Camera, pollen information in Weather, enhanced theft protection, and improved battery management.
